Here we are at the end of October and it's snowing! Although, I am not ready for the cold, I know my 3 year old is excited about it. I wanted to let you know what has been happening with Power House over the past few months.
As I mentioned in the last update, we did receive our state approved plans this summer. All the bids are in finally and we are working hard on fundraising the $154k to bring the building up to state code. This may seem like a large number but when we all work together it really isn't. Our challenge is to get 154 people to donate $1,000. We have hired a program director!! After, much prayer and pursuing different people, God has brought a person who has a heart for young people to help us plan and implement programs. We also have secured an interim building until we are done with the renovations at the center. Praise the Lord, we will be able to use the interim building for free. Our plan is to be able to begin programs the beginning of 2018 at the interim site. Please stay tuned for more details. I am so grateful for everyone who has joined us on this journey. We definitely know that we cannot offer the youth of our community this opportunity without people like you who believe in the mission and vision. Thank you to everyone who has partnered with us through financial donations, prayers, and items for the center. I mentioned earlier in this update our challenge to get 154 people to donate $1,000. Would you consider helping us "raise the temperature"? If you or someone you know would like to donate, please send a tax-deductible gift to: Power House 622 1st. Street S. Ladysmith, WI 54848 I am excited to watch this thermometer fill up! I know that when people work together they can accomplish great things! If you have any questions please email powerhouseladysmith@gmail.com. Sincerely, Lanita Stutzman Executive Director-Power House Comments are closed.
